Gather is a platform that makes it easy to organize communities into action for a better world. These Community Guidelines help ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all members.

Expected Behaviors
1. Be Respectful and Kind
- Treat others as you would like to be treated
- Respect different perspectives and experiences
- Disagree constructively without personal attacks
- Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Respect people's time and boundaries
Not allowed: Harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. No actions or words that put a person in danger or at risk of violence.
2. Keep Content Appropriate
- Share content relevant to your groups
- Keep posts appropriate
- Use content warnings when discussing sensitive topics
- Respect group-specific rules and norms
Not allowed: Adult content, graphic violence, gore, or anything that would make members uncomfortable in a professional setting.
3. Be Authentic and Honest
- Use your real name and identity
- Don't impersonate others or organizations
- Share accurate information and cite sources
- Correct mistakes when you make them
- Be transparent about affiliations and conflicts of interest
Not allowed: Fake accounts, impersonation, spreading misinformation, spam, or deceptive practices.
4. Protect Privacy and Safety
- Don't share others' personal information without consent
- Respect confidentiality agreements within groups
- Report safety concerns to group admins or platform moderators
- Don't coordinate or encourage harmful activities
- Be mindful of what you share publicly vs. privately
Not allowed: Doxxing, sharing private messages, stalking, threats, harassment or coordinating harassment.
5. Contribute Meaningfully
- Add value to discussions and activities
- Complete actions you commit to
- Help new members feel welcome
- Share knowledge and resources generously
- Give constructive feedback when appropriate
Not allowed: Spam, off-topic posts, excessive self-promotion, commercial gain, or gaming the points system.
6. Respect Intellectual Property
- Only share content you have rights to share
- Give credit to original creators
- Respect copyright and fair use guidelines
- Don't plagiarize others' work
Not allowed: Piracy, copyright infringement, or unauthorized distribution of protected content.
7. Follow the Law
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Don't use the platform for illegal activities
- Respect export controls and sanctions
- Honor legal age restrictions
Not allowed: Illegal activities, coordinating violence, drug sales, fraud, or anything that violates laws.
8. Group-Specific Rules
Each group may have additional guidelines specific to their community. When you join a group, you agree to follow both these platform-wide guidelines and any group-specific rules. Group admins have the authority to enforce their rules and remove members who don't comply.
Reporting Violations
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
- For group-level issues: Contact your group admin
- For platform-level issues: Email support@Gather.app
- For urgent safety concerns: Contact your local authorities immediately, and email safety@Gather.app
Include relevant details, screenshots, and links to help us investigate. Reports are reviewed confidentially.
Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Warning: First-time minor violations
- Content Removal: Posts or resources that violate guidelines
- Warning Status: You account may be put on warning until problematic behavior is rectified. Other users will be notified that you are on warning status.
- Temporary Suspension: Repeated or moderate violations
- Account Termination: Serious or repeated violations
- Legal Action: Illegal activities or threats to safety
Enforcement decisions are made at our discretion. We reserve the right to suspend, terminate or remove any member at any time. We may also involve law enforcement for serious threats or illegal activities.
Updates to Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as our community grows and evolves. We'll notify you of significant changes. Your continued use after updates means you accept the revised guidelines.
